Game 15 - Nets @ Jazz - Saturday, November 29, 9:00

The Nets get a chance to go above .500 Saturday but it won't be easy. They're playing the Jazz in Utah and Deron Williams, out for a month, is "50-50" after playing 27 minutes vs. he Kings Friday. Of course, the Jazz have done well (11-6) without Williams and Carlos Boozer. Andrei Kirilenko has revitalized his career and Paul Milsap has filled in admirably in for Boozer, going for 24 and 16 Wednesday.

With or without Boozer, I think that the Nets can win this game. I actually want Boozer to play.

there is a rumor that deron is not going to play back to back games. he is going to play tonight but questionable tomorrow.I HOPE

Deron should play. The only way our players are going to develop is if they are challenged.

totally unrelated to this thread but, there is an article on espn how amare stoudemire wants to hit the market, or more like is open to hitting it

Hopefully along with Amare D-Wade will be available. I really like D-Wade, and if we get a chance to sign D-Wade and maybe sign Amare or something like that it would be amazing.

Imagine:
Nets somehow get Barclays Center open in 2010…
S&T for Lebron (why else arent the Nets dumping two max contract worth of contracts?) and sign Bosh outright.
Knicks get Wade and Amare
or some combination:
Beasts of the East for many years to come with a lot of entertaining basketball

Guys stop getting off topic! I care about the nets now! Not for 2010, so stay on topic! now…
With or without Boozer they are good. With or without Booz and Deron they are good.
Luckily Boozer will not play, and Deron is questionable, but I still believe he will play and I want him to play.
Now let me tell you, like the Lakers there bench is very good, and their starting 5 is very tough to beat. They are absolutely destroying the Kings right now, and we had to beat them in overtime.
Of course we have size advantage but their starting 5 is quick, Milsap, brewer, Miles, and Deron are fast. They play hard defense and they can steal the ball. Okur will be hanging out at the 3 point line, but he can make them.
It’s going to be a tough matchup for Harris against Williams, but he’s not fully 100% so Harris can match him.
Hope V.C will be okay and he needs to produce if we have even a remote chance to win.
Lopez and Anderson have a good chance to showcase their skills here. Sean I would use him here for defensive purposes.
But it’s Yi that needs to step it up, cuz there forwards are really really good.
It’ll be tough to win this game, but if were aggressive on the boards, play good defense, and get the others in foul trouble, we can win this game.

if some how we spilt the next 2 games.our record will be 8-8. i just took a look at dec schedule and i think we can go 9-7 with a decent schedule for dec.so by the end of dec our record will be 17-15.who wouldn’t sign on the dotted line for that?i know i would.with a record like that we probaly be the 6th seed…lets go nets BLOP for r.o.y

This will be a good challenge for the kids and the Nets will have to step up and play some d, i don’t think we’ll win but with this team who knows.
All i know is, Boozer was on fire the last time we played the Jazz as he was nailing mid range j after mid range j, but Devin Harris imo outplayed Deron Williams, and with the way Harris has been going, Williams is going to be in for a hell of a duel at the point if the Blur is on.
the X factor for this game is either Yi or Ryan Anderson. We need a good night from both, but one of them need to step up and make their mark on that PF spot with this game against elite competition. Go Nets!!!

don’t worry, this season Harris is better than Deron, it’s time to win at their home.

Deron, protect your ankles, don’t try to defend Devin

This is going to be tough on our new rookies including Yi. But offensive wise we are at the advantage. Defensive Yi will have a hard time cheking Mislap and Brooks will be ineffective on defensive rebounds since Okur plays the three point line. We need to post up Brooks and get Okur in foul trouble quickly. This most likely will allow Lopez to play his normal defensive position which is near the basket. I don’t think brook can handle Mislap also. Probably Sean will do better on Mislap but most likely SW will be match-up with Kirlenko. This is one that we need the toughness and experience of najera.
Maybe the zone will work better for us. But no question we can win this one and maybe the next one too with Nash having some sort of injury. It is going to be tougher for him since he will deal with our own DH.

I was at the last game the Nets beat the Jazz in Utah. I was going to school at BYU, south of SLC, so every year I went to that game. I’m sure many of you recall this game…Carter brought the ball up pass half court w/less than 5 secs left in reg. and drained a three pointer to win by 1. I think I was the only one their (along with a good friend-also from NJ), wearing a Carter Jersey, jumping up and down! I hope the Nets win this one…I can’t stand Jazz fans!

This is the time Yi wake up right? Where he put up 20 points or more.

Pretty good first half. 59 points against the Jazz is great in my book. Let’s hope we don’t have a horrible third quarter like we have had in many games.

So far the game is controlled, the Jazz are absolutely lost in the 3rd qtr! We can’t waste the lead we have!
by Pedro Alves (Portugal) on Nov 29, 2008 10:54 PM EST reply actions
that was a very sloppy 3rd but were lucky we pulled away anyway HANDING THE JAZZ THERE 3RD LOST SINCE DEC 07 WOULD BE SICK!

Defenitely the answer this season is being Harris, I never thought that this season we have a chance to reach the playoffs, but we are definitely a contenders for even some more if we keep developing! Just great! Harris is absolutely schooling D-Williams, oh gosh!
by Pedro Alves (Portugal) on Nov 29, 2008 11:13 PM EST reply actions
Deron, I warned you not to try to defend Devin, now how do your ankles feel?
by iSpartan on Nov 29, 2008 11:16 PM EST reply actions
I knew this was a going to be an easy win for the nets. We just match up well, and Vince doesn’t find Utah intimdating at all. Our guys feed off his mentality (that is why we lost in 2nd halves against Cavs and Lakers). Right now our morale is high- and I feel we can go up against anyone.
Devin Harris is looking more and more like the best offensive point guard in the game and the backcourt will be the best backcourt in the nba if it already isn’t.
