lets yi come off the bench. Nets don’t need him at a scorer. harris and carter take most of the shots and scoring. He looked pretty useless with the starters. Sean William should starts. We need some defense with the starters.
by lol on Nov 26, 2008 6:43 AM EST reply actions
We have our big 3 in harris, carter, and brooks..simmons and sean williams are role players that can knock down 3’s and play defense. Yi is just useless with the starters. He could be the big scorer for our bench and a little energy.

Sean Williams should not start, and snince when can Williams kock down a 15 footer none the less a 3?
by Jersey_Blues on Nov 26, 2008 6:54 AM EST reply actions
Sean Williams was terrible.what makes you think he will start?Every single defensive stop from him was a foul with the exception of one block but after this he fouled again.
Vince wasn’t getting the ball and when he went to the bench with foultrouble the game was over.
This game is a W.Just get the ball to VC and he will create.BLopez is pretty imrpesive though…..
110-95 W

All of you know why Yi is not going to be put on the bench
by BigEd on Nov 26, 2008 7:07 AM EST reply actions
Didn’t you see YI driving to the basket last night in LA? He did it at least 3 times, and it was as if I saw GOD! He is strong and fast and big, and he drove right to the basket, and even finished once. His all around game is showing signs of coming around. Please, LFRANK, let YI continue to play solid minutes. The change in the starting lineup needs to be putting Hayes in for Simmonds and giving Hayes a consistent 30 minutes. He can hit open jumpers, and that is what the dribble drive offense is all about for the forwards. Lopez had his moments, again, but we miss Boone’s interior defense and savvy around the basket. Lopez should continue to start, but we need a solid 20 minutes from Boone too. Can we play Boone and Lopez together sometimes against certain teams? Lakers look like they are taking the lessons learned from the Celtic’s “team play” in the playoffs to heart. They will be tough to beat, if they continue to play well as a unit, even on nights when KOBE doesn’t shoot well. We have got to beat the KINGS!!!!

@lol,lol
Sean had 6 fouls in 6 minutes. That’s what you want more of.

Forget last game, and come in ready for this one. Or use last game for motivation.

I agree w/ jerrod, let’s move on and hope we can beat the Kings.

I keep Yi in w/ the starters. Anderson out playing Yi severely is the only way i bench Yi. If we had another big off the bench that could play center i’d be advocating starting Boone and Lopez together.
Watch out for John Salmons tonight.
We should win this one.

BigEd,
I agree with you and it’s terrible. I believe Frank said spots 3-12 were up for grabs, and all we kept hearing was how good of a camp Ryan Anderson had. I think he should start. I think Yi can be a starter in a the future but he’s going to go through his growing pains. He shold go through them on the bench! I think he would still get 15-20 minutes. He needs to play with “swag”. He’s good, and he has to play like it even when he knows his shot is off. He is not a presence on the floor when his shoot isn’t falling and that hinders the Nets.

@Jersey_Blues
Sean Williams play better defense than YI. I meant bobby Simmons “suppose to” knock 3’s.
Yeah Yi won’t get many touches with the starters and he keep looking clueless with them. Go download some of the games and you can see Yi standing around doing nothing and sometime he got in the way. He would get more touches with the bench and we could use another scorer in the bench.
by lol on Nov 26, 2008 11:32 AM EST reply actions
I am still not sure if Boone should be the starting 4 or the 1st big off the bench.
Ideally, i feel Boone would be better and sevre us better getting big MPG off the bench. Then agian I also think Boone-Lopez would be a kick ass 4-5.
Fact is this team really could use Boone back, Josh if you read here come back tonight.

It’ll be nice to see Yi match up against Mikki Moore.
by 732_Franchise on Nov 26, 2008 1:03 PM EST reply actions
This is a game where we are expected to win. If we lose….it’ll be almost impossible to win against the Jazz, and Suns.
With Kevin Martin injured that makes things much easier for the Nets.
This is a game where the Nets canplay iwth intensity after feeling horrible about last night.
Nothing is given in the NBA, and we have to watch out for their young big men.
I’ve been watching alot of King games, and Spencer Hawes can play. Brad Miller is proven, and John Salmons can be great when it’s a good day for him.
We should have no problem against Beno and Salmons, but V.C or Harris need to play much better than last night if they hope to win.
Keep Yi the starting line up, he’s playing well. Sean? he’ll foul out in less than 10 minutes.
Hope Anderson plays well in front of his family and friends here. Expect a good game from Lopez as well.
Please let the Nets win tonight.

I heard Mikki Moore was injured, we sure could have used him here.

Yi will never be benched. hes been hyped up too much and would be a bad PR move if he is moved to the bench. frank knows this. maybe he could do it for ONE game to send a message, but i just dont see it unless he is comin back from an injury.
SWAT was horrible last night. sean will only start this year if we have injuries and if we have that many we will be god awful.
harris-carter-yi are all locks to start. i think brook should be in there too. if our roster stays like this i think simmons starts all year too because he is a vet and frank would feel better with him than cdr and he wants hayes off the bench.
for this franchise the best thing is to keep brook in the starting lineup and play starters minutes. boone is a good bench guy who can bring some energy and change the pace when brook it out from a low post pounder to a pick-n-roll quicker big in boone. i hope frank sees it this way.
we should beat the kings even if its the back end of a back-2-back. they just are not a good team and i expect devin to get to the paint and line at will and i hope brook has a big game too. anderson will have his juices goin and could get hot from 3. this would be a bad loss if we do lose.
by xcalibur on Nov 26, 2008 2:09 PM EST reply actions
Swat should start at the 4 and Yi at the 3 with Boone off the bench. Swat is the only good defensive player we have off the bench and plays out of position. Thats why he gets into foul trouble and can’t do more on offense. FIRE FRANK!!
by swatfan on Nov 26, 2008 3:24 PM EST reply actions
Any of you guys seen Thompson play before? He’s a jersey kid.
by Weakside on Nov 26, 2008 3:35 PM EST reply actions
SWAT can’t play under control enough to warrant starting over Yi, Boone, or Anderson.
He should get PT, but not starter minutes
by Mr. Dollar Bills on Nov 26, 2008 4:20 PM EST reply actions
Someone should give MR.Dollar Bills a Oscar, you my friend know your stuff and are a very smart person.
As to Swatfan, No Swat should not start at anything. He should play, but as MR.Dollar Bills said not anything close to starters Mins.
The 4/5 should be
YI/Anderson
Lopez/Boone
Each of those 4 should get at least 20 MPG.
by Jersey_Blues on Nov 26, 2008 4:58 PM EST reply actions
If Swat and Lopez played 75% of the game together, we would win 75% of the time. We’ll never see it cause Frank is clueless otherwise, I’d prove all of you wrong. Go with Yi all the way to the lottery. My guess is Yi will get hurt cause his position is to physical and maybe that will open up an opportunity for Swat at the 4. All of you who don’t beleive in Swat should get behind Frank.

Kings most effective offensive weapon this far: udrih stumbling over his own feet and getting the phantom foul call
Awesome game for Anderson and Lopez so far, you can see why Ryan gets such a good PER rating from Hollinger
