Name Game for Third Point Guard

With the prospect of Devin Harris missing another game Wednesday, the Nets are exploring another prospect--finally finding that third point guard. Some names are easy, like Eddie Gill and Julius Hodge, cut last month. Others would require a trade, like the Grizzlies' Javaris Crittenton or the Rockets' Luther Head. And since the Nets already have 15 players on the roster, someone would have to go.

Who has to go ? Ager? or Hassell?
I like Hassell with his glasses, it looks cool.
By the way, hello, Eddie Gill, this is his 58 times signing with the Nets.

Hassell? I guess he’s alright. Frank seems to put him in for his perimeter defense, -which isn’t something you find too often on this team. He is tradeable though. I don’t care what kind of accessories he wears.
Mo Ager is terrible. Who would want him?
Sean Williams for Crittenton! Sean, I love ya buddy…but you’re better off somewhere else.

Luther Head for the trade exception and cut Ager.

Head and Hodge are not legit PGs. Crittenden for Sean Williams is the best move. Stromie for Watson or Speedy Claxton are both doable trades.

Head provides us with a 3 point shooter and an average defender. The others are either too old or still extremely young and haven’t had many chances. Head is the most proven out of them.

Where did Sean Williams grow up?
a) Philadelphia.
b) Carson City, NV
c) Houston, home of the Rockets.
I was surprised to see Head’s name of that list. It came out of nowhere. Perhaps Mr. Kerber of the Post has some inside information.
The problem with trading Ager or Williams for Head is that Head makes $2 million, so a straight up trade for either doesn’t work. Nor would the TE. Dumping Ager would mean that the Nets would have to eat $1 million.

What about something like Head/Dorsey for Ager/Williams?

This team has been crying out for a backup point guard since we shipped marcus out, yet management refuses to waive ager … and eat his meager salary … to make room for one.
I guess that ratner is in even worse financial shape than we thought he was … brett yormark’s denials not withstanding.

Isnt it amazing how sports teams are always so willing to pitch multi-million dollar stadiums to cities and want tax-payers to help pay for them but they arent as quick to eat salaries like Mo Ager’s and Lawrence Frank’s? If you think taxpayers have millions just lying around to throw away, why cant you do the same when you actually DO have it?

I prefer Hodge or Gill coz these guys can play right away. My thought is this , Luther Head and other ones will have a hard time with Frank systems and whon also have a problem making the transition easy whether a young one or veteran comes in.
