Delays, Added Costs Slowing Nets' New Arena

Stay connected for news and updates

Bruce Ratner's Forest City Enterprises and the State of New York keep saying the Nets will be moving to their new Brooklyn arena in 2009, but the New York Observer reports critics' lawsuits and other delaying tactics are having an effect, casting doubt on that schedule. Ratner, according to affadavits quoted by the Observer, is losing $4.15 million a month and the Nets are losing $35 million a year as a result of the delays. The critics' two key lawsuits should come to a head soon, the Observer notes.
