
Jason Kidd didnt take a shot, but racked up four assists and three rebounds in 15 minutes as Team USA destroyed Venezuela, 112-69, in the opening game of the FIBA Americas Cup in Las Vegas. Leading the Americans were Carmelo Anthony and Michael Redd with 17 each, Amare Stoudemire with 16 and Kobe Bryant with 14. The Americans missed seven of their first nine 3-point attempts and were only 20-for-29 from the free throw line. Team USA plays the US Virgin Islands Thursday night at 11 on ESPN Classic.
