Game 29 - Wizards @ Nets, Friday, December 28, 7:30

The Eastern conference's two longest serving coaches--Eddie Jordan and Lawrence Frank--square off again Friday night when the banged up Wizards meet the Nets in East Rutherford. Washington is 14-13 and even after losing Gilbert Arenas, their bad luck didn't take a break. Caron Butler has had ankle problems and Antonio Daniels is still out. For the Nets, Antoine Wright has his own ankle issues and won't play.

I’m trying to remain optimistic but if the Nets lose this game I’m going to lose all hope for the season. I’m a season ticket holder and the Nets have not been enjoyable at all to watch at home except against Cleveland and Golden State. Frank is on the hot seat for this game in my opinion. I hope to see Vince shoot more than 11 times this game.

The Wizards are OVERACHIEVING because they have a great coach who the players believe in. The Nets are UNDERACHIEVING because they have a lousy coach who the players don’t believe in.

This game could have playoff implications. This is the tie breaker if the Nets and Wizards end up with the same record.
Key to the game: Sean Williams did not play in the last meeting which the Nets lost (assuming due to his fouls against the Knicks). If he plays well against Jamison and stays on the court, Nets should win.

This game is a MUST WIN……The nets have a chance here to start something big…..their next 6 games are winable…..Very winable I must say…..
I really hope VC plays big for the team…he has the hot hand…they just need to start creating some isolation plays for him….and give him a chance…..VC for 40+

Great post newarkhawk! Thats it exactly. less talented teams are playing with greater effort and passion and doing much better then our talented Nets team! GODDAM, I hate thorn, he should be apologizing to the fans and the ticket holders especially, and he should be publicly stating that FRANK is as accountable as anybody and that changes will come if there is no improvement. Instead, he makes me think that hes in bed with Frank and that something creepy is going on in this organization.
About the last game:
11 shots for RJ. 11 shots for VC. Odd. I mean, if we had a balanced team like the Suns or the Pistons or something that, that could make sense, but we dont. we have a team with one prolific scorer in VC, and a really good 2nd option with RJ. The rest are not shooters or scorers. Hence, we will never EVER beat a team like Detroit when our 2 best (and only true) options combine for 22 shots. And if you cant run plays to get VC a shot, or a spot up on the block, then just sit down on the damn bench and shut up Frank.
And I will say that putting MA and JC at the same time is stupid. Gently does it Frank. MA and JC just makes a hell of a lot more pressure for the big 3, so better to put one in, and make a slower rotation.
Also I think Magloire could play more. Give him all of Collins minutes, at least for a few games, and see what happens. cant be much worse then Collins.
I tend to agree with Mina. This team is too talented to be underachieving 3 years straight. This team CANNOT be as bad as it is. It just makes no sense. coach must be held accountable.
Im sure some players are can be blamed too, but this is too big NOT to be the coachs fault.
And I remember talking of what an aura this team had, what chemistry…How did this all dissipate so fast? The players? or the coach… Personally, my intuition says coach is responsible, and I just cant see 12 guys this talented messing it up like this…
And I was not satisfied witht the Nets 2 wins…I still felt that with a normal coach those 2 wins could have come much easier.
About tonights game:
Please let our scorers do what they need to do! and please listen to some of the advice or the fans on this site! someone should tie Thorn and Frank up and make them read this site daily!

if VC will be our first option on the offensive end we gonna win this one
if Frank is keeping to run every play through RJ we will lose
it is really simple like that

Day by day, Frank continues to make Rod Thorn look like an idiot.
If these guys don’t play a hard 48 minutes tonight you all can stop being optimistic about these next few games.

Wizards 99 Nets 81
It will go something like this, we’ll run our three man weave at the top of the key each possesion and either pass out into a turnover or drive and get stripped.
Not only is this team bad, but also lazy and boring to watch. Wake me up when we start blowing this team up. Otherwise, have fun hoping the square pegs will fit in the round holes.

We should win this, as long as Frank doesn’t make stupid substitutions.
I don’t think anything in December is a must-win, but the schedule is softer and we are playing better now overall, I’d say. So we should try to string a few wins together here and buy some time until Krstic returns.

Oh and can Vince Carter get more than 11 shot attempts please? He is shooting very well lately and he only gets 11 attempts.

Joe if they were to base a popular drinking game off of Lawrence Frank’s stupid substitutions there would be a lot of people dying from alcohol poisoning.

dadi you are right. The offense must flow through the hands of our superstar shooting guard.

Frank is not a perfect coach but he could be good. Compare to Eddie Jordan, Frank is not a player and a good coach. That’s what’s hard with coaches who really did not excel playing the game. Doesn’t have that basketball sense or sixth sense. The closest assistant that have more of that is Bill Cartwright. I believe in this situation Kidd should be part of the coaching because he have a great feel on how the game progress and what is needed inside the court. I believe Kidd has same ability like Bill Russel. Maybe Daryll Amstrong, I hear something about him planning to be a coach, maybe he could be elevated to an assistant playing coach and help Frank feel the game.
Popovich and Laker’s Jackson have that basketball sense, I believe they have acquired while playing for so many years.
Well anyhow let’s forget about Frank’s ability, Washington is beatable, and the only thing going in favor is that how Eddie will prepare for the new first five, which I believe will give Washington a problem. So I predict WIN #3, so far only lost 1 but it’s on an elite team, that’s acceptable. Advance Happy New Jersey Nets Year to all. Thanks to all bloggers I’ve enjoyed your sharing and I hope the same with you guys. It’s the year of the RATS just take out RA and replace it with NE , the rest I leave to you to figure it out.
