Allen Illness Was Cause for DNP, Krstic Will Remain on the Sidelines

After starting all three of the Nets' wins out West, Malik Allen received a DNP in Tuesday's loss to Memphis. It was learned Thursday that Allen was under the weather, and he'll return to the starting lineup on Saturday against the Sixers. Meanwhile,Vince Carter's return to the starting lineup is not necessarily permanent (despite his impressive line on Tuesday), Nenad Krstic will definitely not play anytime soon, and Marcus Williams should practice for the first time next Saturday.

Vince starting is not permanent? Are u on dope? Geesh! Is Frank trying to kill this man confidence?….Let’s start RJ off the bench.

RJ coming off the bench? Are you on dope? Think about it, the 3 games Carter came off the bench, we won. Then all of a sudden he starts and we lose. Build Toine’s confidence but have Carter still play 30+ minutes off the bench. He can be like Manu and Jason Terry.

But I still want him to start lol. He filled up the stat sheet last game. Concentrate on scoring and let Kidd fill up the stat sheet.

I don’t care if VC starts or not as long as he plays the bulk of the minutes and we win. But for the bigs, Frank needs to establish a consistent rotation so that the guys can play well!

There’s not a team in the league who won’t tremble with fear
against a starting five of wright, collins, allen, jkidd and rj! Offensive prediction: 39 Net points at halftime. Defensive prediction, Korver goes 5 of 8 from downtown.

Hey Ferocious, Rose was talking about the playoffs not the next game.
Luz, be quiet.
I think you guys forgot that were still 3 players from full strength.

@Kevin
You must have misunderstood me, I think the nets have a solid team, they just need to be consistent and come with the effort for 48 minutes. That being said, I think Coach Frank is not doing a good job of getting the most of the team talent! That is all!
Go nets!!

Okay, I agree with you, but I still think Frank is a good coach. Just wait until everyone comes back from injury and Krstic and Boki start “playing”. We’ll be fine.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Sean Williams is what we’ve been lacking since Kenyon was traded, so it only makes sense for Frank to start the two biggest stiffs ahead of him. Goddammit I hate Frank.

We need to start Sean befofre allen. Make sno sense what frank is thinking. Ok Allne was a descent mid range jump shot but that isnt what gets us going its the fast break points, easier scores…rebouding and ENERGY!!! come on …everyone cant be wrong and Frank right!
by Adam on Nov 29, 2007 9:58 PM EST reply actions
Frank makes a lot of wrong moves. He’s got to get over his obsession w/ Collins, Boone & now Gill.
He’s got to learn how to recognize his best talent. VC, JK, RJ, Sean, & Allen should start.
Boki should come off 6th, then Wright.
When Kristic gets 100%, he should start w/ Allen subbing him.
Nothing pesonal against Frank, but it would be great to get a better coach calling the shots.

Another problem w/ Frank is that he doesn’t make the other guys run.
Kidd beats the team down the court on breaks 9 times out of 10. This is all wrong.
Kidd needs his wings out in FRONT. The other guys all lag behind.
Why can’t Frank see this?
The Nets most potent weapon used to be thier fast break.
There is no fast break if the other guys jog down the court IN BACK of Kidd. This cuts Kidds effectiveness by a huge degree.

you gotta be joking me…frank rather start collins and allen over swill magloire boone and if kristic was healthy he probably would bring him off the bench. Last year they had the worst center pf combo in the whole league with twin and moore. Frank has somehow got it worse this with allen and twin. On any other team both these players would 3rd stringers off the bench or maybe at best 2nd stringers. The nets hit the jackpot with swill and should start and play at least 25-35min/game. if anything the mnore you play him the more better this team will be in the playoffs. Magloire is a good player who can rebound better than any big on this team. He needs to be given a faur chance. I dont understand frank after starting 2 games magloire doesnt see a sec. He played pretty well against miami if i recall. Noe VC coming off the bench would be the worst coaching move in NBA history and thats not over exagerating. does kobe, wade, pierce, lebron, carmelo come off hte bench. and dont compare it to ginobli. Firts off while ginobli is a heck of a player he aint no vince, and san antonio still throws out there duncan and parker with other pretty good players around him in the starting lineup. Thats not allen collins and wright. Give me a break. There is only one solution for this nets team, and this is a fact, either frank starts to make the right decisions, or he’s gotta go. For a team to have the same nucleus for 3 yrs, theres a whole lot of instability on this team. And injuries arnt the excuse. This team plays differently every game. one time its defense and no offense then its oyher way around. They are not sticking to a gameplan that works consistently. That what Jkidd means when he says this team has no identity. Its a shame this team from top to bottom has the most balanced and talented roster in the east. There is no reason they should underachieve. I am sorry Frank has to go

people need to stop comparing rj and vc. rj is a poor man’s version of vince which still makes him a good player. Now Vince coming off the bench does not make any sense since he’s not an energy player, also they wont be able to maximize his minutes. he needs to play as much as he can if the nets have any chances. Now rj shouldnt start either cause he’s one of their best players. But if you ask which one of them is better suited to come off the bench it would be rj. His game is more energy and he could be an instant scorer. He’s not a playmaker who makes plays for others and mathers around him better. But neither both should come off the bench. To be honest i dont know what frank is smoking.

sorry i meannt to say rj should not come off the bench either on 4th sentence

VC off the bench!?!?
man this is the funniest thing I´ve ever heard…………wow, if Frank really wants to bring our main offensive weapon off the bench he has to be fired- especially since we are in danger of slow starts- bringing our offensive catalyst off the bench would be the most stupid thing ever.
just in case VC isnt starting, what would happen- we would start slowly like we used to and VC had to bring us back when entering the game- this makes no sense Frank!!!!!
cheers

It actually makes perfect sense if you THINK about it. We always get killed in the second quarter because that’s when our bench players come in. Would you rather have Wright leading the charge off the bench or Carter? Jason Terry and Manu Ginobli come off the bench and look how successful they’ve been.
by kevin on Nov 30, 2007 3:02 PM EST reply actions
KEVIN SORRY BUDDY, WHATS THE TEAMS PROBLEM THEY CANT SCORE IN THE FIRST HALF…. THAT MEANS YOUR BEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER NEEDS TO PLAY AT LEAST 20MIN A HALF ESPECIALLY THE FIRST HALF. IF VC COMES OFF THE BENCH INSTEAD OF MAINTAINING THE LEAD VC WOULD HAVE TO GET THEM BACK IN THE GAME BECAUSETHEY’LL PROBABLY BE DOWN 15 WHEN VC COMES OF THE BENCH TO SAVE THIS TEAM * AGAIN
by mina on Nov 30, 2007 9:33 PM EST reply actions
The starting lineup isn’t the problem as seen in the past 3rd quarters. They always fight back. The bench needs help not the starters. RJ can handle the socring. Carter will lead the bench.
BUT ID STILL RATHER HAVE HIM STARTING.
