So Many Big Men...So Little Time

Dave D'Alessandro uses his mailbag to deal with big issues, very big issues. The Nets it seems have a lot of bigs, but many of them have issues: Krstic's rehab, Collins' head case, Magloire's minutes, Sean Williams inexperience, etc., etc. Dave says don't worry about Krstic, he'll be fine...and real good. Collins is going to get fewer minutes as Williams improves. Twin's shooting? It's a game issue. He hits them in practice. Magloire continues to work hard but his time may simply have passed.

I really wish Thorn would do something about this. Not working make a trade, and not involving the big 3

Why isn’t Magliore playing at all??

Because the Nets want to match up well with other teams. Maybe they should start thinking about playing their way of basketball, or play the way their team is built, not the other way around. They have 7 bigs and 5 smalls. Might as well use all 7 instead of overloading on minutes for the smalls. I mean think about it: 5 players are sharing 3 positions, while the other 7 are sharing 2 positions.

I really don’t like Varejo at all because of his hair/flops/etc but I think the Nets should work a sign and trade with Cleveland. We can give up Magloire and anyone else not named VC, Jkidd, RJ or Swill.

Varajao is asking too much – 9MM/year? No way Nets or anyone should pay that for him.

Name one team that will pay him that much? Chauncy Billups has $10 million a year. There’s no way he’s that close to him, money-wise. We already have 2 over-paid bigs, we don’t need another one.
