Armstrong Out 2-4 Weeks With Thigh Contusion, Gill On the Way

Darrell Armstrong went down late in the game Tuesday night after being hit in the head inadvertently by James Posey. Well, it turns out that Armstrong suffered a "severe contusion of the right thigh" on the same play, and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks, according to the Nets. So, with Marcus Williams and Vince Carter out as well, Eddie Gill will be brought back from the D-League.

This is terrible news. Marcus Williams is not due to come back until Nov 28 at the earliest.

with Vince Carter also out, Nets have no backup PG.

Kidd will either need to log major minutes or Wright/RJ split the ballhandling duties when Kidd sits.

terrible just terrible

Now this is getting better by day. Nets are without two backup PG plus the one who can play PG, VC also is out. Are they trying to kill Kidd. This is going to be bad. Wright is the next PG. Nets are thin in the backcourt now with three out. They’ve 10 healthy bodies and out of 10, 6 are bigs.

Oh wait, VC may play tomorrow to help his neighbor Kidd out.

The nets are screwed unless they get marcus williams and vince carter back real soon.

It’s bad news…But better early in the season then later…Just wait for Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to run in to each other and be out a few weeks…Hopefully in April!

Bring back Kenny Anderson!

because the 10 day signing period is not around, if the Nets want to pick up another loaner PG, it will be guaranteed and will put them back over the luxury tax threshold.

Celtics took two Nets out in last two games. What’s going on here….. Somebody has to return the favor when Nets meet Celtics..

the nets suck..they disappoint the league every year..how could the big three not get it done at all..VC is horrible..when i worked for the nets, i saw them play night in and night out..everyone in our department would call an “L” even before the game started and usually they would get that “L”. They’ll never get back to the days when they ran the atlantic division..not with VC on this team..sorry i offended anyone..i just had enough already

I think it would be an excellent promotion for season ticket holders – be the Nets’ third string point guard for the night!

This is a mess! A paper thin backcourt and a useless frontcourt, except Williams, but he’s a rook. Kidd and Jefferson are the only good ones!

Welcome back Starbury-exactyly what the nets need don’t know how they gonna get em, but think about it this way, Steph can shoot and the nets can’t. He can play shooting gaurd also, which mean he is a scoring point gaurd. Vince Carter is not a point gaurd. Focus on shooting not passing. we don’t need a Lebron-person passing up on shots. At least if Steph sucks as bad as he has since he has bee in NY MW will be back.

Tony I agree. Nets and Celtics once had a big rivalry in early 2000s when Nets went on their Finals runs and then back in the 80’s. The Nets need to answer back soon. It’s like in baseball you throw at my guys and hurt them, I’m going to come after your boys now and try and hurt them.

Renew the Rivalry against the traditonal face of the NBA in the Boston Celtics versus, the face of the one time ABA in the New Jersey Nets, that were a dynasty back then with Dr. J, that introduced the slam dunk, 3 point line, and All Star game to the NBA.

Next Nets-Celtics game: January 11th, 2008 at the Zod, the Jersey Boys will get revenge.

Posey punked Armstrong….should have been a flagrant with a suspension..but the refs looked the other way. The Celtics manhandled the Nets once they got the lead, mugged Kidd, no call, grabbed Wright, jump ball, Pierce ran into RJ, travelling, sure…Garnett hits guys hard every time he gets a chance, even held RJ by the jersey but no call since RJ scored anyway. Terrible.

!!!!!!!!!!!Actually If any one here is a news paper writer PLEASE! PLEASE! write something in your paper about Guard ALLEN RAY he played for the Celtics last season, and shot an unbelievable percentage from the three point line for a rook. He went to some foreign team, but their season is only 34 games, it should be over. He would be ready to come in and play. Experienced with NBA, and probably played alot in his foreign league!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. By the way Sean Williams is A BEAST. Elastic Man LOL

hey yoyo, why didn´t you said that when everyone was healthy and we were winnin games?.. now that everybody get hurt you start dissin the team.. Marbury is not an option due to his salary and i dont see the knicks doing the buyout. Nets gonna bring Gill from the D-League till Marcus and/or VC get back, Gill had a pretty good training camp and pre-season and was the first pick in the D-League so lets hope he does it well for us.

Cant wait till VC and Marcus get back, we will be fine in December.

The first time I read about you guys wanting to get starbury, I thought you guys were crazy. Then I realized that he’s exactly what we need right now. But I doubt he’ll want in.

This happens every year. I don’t know, but I think the “nba gods” hate us, lack of better words. Watch, everyone will criticize us once we start losing, forgetting that we’re once again an injury-riddled team.

by kevin on Nov 15, 2007 6:41 PM EST reply actions

i think we can get steve francis, he hasn´t played in houston and he´s daying to play.
