Barring Roster Overhaul, Nets Look to Pay Luxury Tax

Rod Thorn has said some personnel decisions have been based on financial considerations, noting that the team is at or just over the luxury tax threshold. Bruce Ratner has said that he is willing to pay the tax...under certain circumstances. With the roster firming up, the Nets will probably go into the season over the threshold for the third straight year. The last two years, Thorn was able to avoid the tax by making midseason trades.
