Krstic Makes Impressive Return as Nets Handle Knicks

Nenad Krstic shot 5-for-5 from the field, including a three-pointer, scoring 11 points in 16 minutes, his first game action since last December, and the Nets beat the Knicks by 16 points at the IZOD Center Thursday night. Richard Jefferson led the Nets with 25 points and Vince Carter added 22, as the two combined to shoot 15-of-21 from the field (including 6-of-8 from downtown). The Knicks closed an early Net lead to one point at the half, but the Nets opened the second half on an 11-0 run and cruised from there.

Where are the Nets beat writers. Fred Kerber writes about Houston not about the game. There was a heavy build up on Krstic playing after 10 months and now after him playing well, beat writers took a day off. Com’on guys!

It is a good thing but it “is” the Knicks the Nets played. Not sure how to judge the Nets yet.

Two important things to take from the game…

1.) Free Throws…just horrible.
2.) Krstic…didn’t look afraid to spin in the post especially against big bodies in Curry and Randolph. No Nets fan should be completely convinced that he is over the mental part of the injury, but he looks promising. If Krstic is able to hit the three or close to it, look for that paint to be more open this season for Kidd, VC, and RJ to attack and destroy the opposing defense. Perfect example…Curry didn’t leave Krstic’s side after Nenad hit that 3 yesterday. The inside paint never looked so shiny. Time for Frank to start calling more pick and rolls, pick and pops, and motions for this team than isos.
