Ugly Third Quarter Dooms Nets in Charlotte

The Nets went into the halftime break with a 14-point lead and having given up just 32 points Monday night in Charlotte, but the Bobcats outscored New Jersey 39-15 in the third period and cruised to a 10-point victory. Sean Williams scored four points, grabbed five offensive boards and blocked a shot in his debut, but he also committed three turnovers and five fouls in just 13 minutes of action. Boki Nachbar again led the Nets with 19 points, but he shot just 4-of-14 from the field. At least the trip provided the Sez with some new material.

i realize its only a preseason game but i feel like this could be an ominous sign for the offense this season. im hoping frank woill alter his ways and open up the offense a little bit. judging by the box score offense was stagnant the whole game. 85 points wont get it done. there is personnel on this team to have a wide open offense. maybe we should emphasize that little more, huh frank?

LFrank must be pulling what hair is left out! 39 points in the 3rd quarter: sounds like last years Nets. Most disturbing things to me are: Boone does not grab a single rebound; Williams can’t stay on the court because of fouls; and, they shoot horribly. Without Kidd or Armstrong they are very bad; with Kidd and Armstrong they may be only mediocre if they can’t shoot, rebound, or play with intensity defensively – again, sounds like last years Nets.

Chill out. Treat PreSeason games like Summer League games…don’t take much from them. If this were a regular season game, the likes of Cleaves, Jumaine Jones, and Eddie Gill wouldn’t have gotten playing time, VC and RJ would’ve played for at least 35 minutes and the team would’ve benefited from Kidd. We had guys who are going to the D-League get big minutes against NBA starters. You can’t judge our entire gameplan for the Season on these games. It’s just not smart.

If there was anything to be worried about, look at our Free-Throws. It’s the same defense as it will always be, none. Free-Throws could’ve won or put us in the position to win many more games than last year and we seriously need to improve on that.

My friends its only the preseason. Im pretty sure Jkidd, and D.A will be running the team and Vince and jefferson will be getting more minutes. You cant assume that the season will reflect the preaseason. Same as the season and the playoffs.
