After Charlotte failed to trade Melvin Ely to the Nets last week, the 6'-10" power forward politely, but firmly, asked the Bobcats to try again. In doing so, Ely publicly expressed his disappointment that Bernard Robinson, and not him, had been traded to New Jersey for Jeff McInnis. Ely said the disappointment was so obvious, teammates came up to him and offered him encouragement.
