Sheridan: Nets Passed on Argentine Gold Medalist

Stay connected for news and updates

Chris Sheridan of ESPN says Rod Thorn passed on Bobcat small forward--and Argentine Olympic gold medalist--Walter Herrmann during this week's trade talks with Charlotte. Sheridan says the Nets saw the 6'-8" Herrmann as too unorthodox and not an NBA shooter. Herrmann is averaging 3.9 ppg and 1.7 rpg in 7 games. With long flowing blonde hair, he has been nicknamed "Fabio" in Charlotte. The Nets took Bernard Robinson in the trade for Jeff McInnis.
