Jefferson Could Undergo Surgery Next Week

Richard Jefferson's troublesome ankle may require him to undergo surgery soon, a procedure that would keep him out til the All-Star break and put a damper on recent enthusiasm about the Nets' prospects. The Nets' forward will be visiting a foot surgeon Sunday to determine what's best. RJ has been living on cortisone injections the last several weeks. It's all about protecting the team's investment in the Big Three member most likely to wear a Brooklyn Nets uniform.
