NetsDaily Mock Draft Round-up

With the NBA Draft a month away--and the lottery now past, a variety of basketball fan sites have posted their ideas of what the league's annual audition will look like on the night of June 28. So far, 18 different mock drafts have been posted on 14 sites. Each is regularly updated.

In the first mock draft roundup, writers have reflected the Nets team needs more than going with the best player available. All but a few focus on big men and point guards. Seven of the picks would be familiar with Continental Airlines Arena, having played in the Big East while nine come from overseas.

Kyle Lowry, the Villanova Wildcats' tough point guard, and Aaron Gray, Pittsburgh's steady center, are the current favorite of the draftniks, with four of the 18 projecting them as the Nets' two first round picks. Two other players who have been projected as a Net pick on three mocks: Saer Sene, the 7-foot Senegalese center who wowed scouts at the Nike Hoop Summit; and point guard Jordan Farmar of UCLA, who worked out for the Nets recently. Another four were named twice: Sergio Rodriguez and Rudy Fernandez, both flashy guards from Spain, and two power forwards, Josh Boone, the defensive specialist from Connecticut, and Alexander Johnson from Florida State, another player who showed his stuff to the Nets brass.

Also being named on two mocks as a projected Net second round choice: power forward Taj Gray of Oklahoma.
